AXA XL's Claims team is known for its expertise in handling complex claims seamlessly. As a Senior Claims Specialist – Casualty Claims, you will play a critical role in driving files to resolution and collaborating with Underwriting teams.
This role requires a Claims professional with extensive experience in Bodily Injury/Casualty and Litigation claims handling. You will be responsible for assessing coverage, preparing correspondence, and evaluating and negotiating timely resolutions on assigned claims.
You will work closely with Claims management and Claims Legal to achieve the best outcomes for AXA XL and its clients. This role involves consulting with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining file notes, and preparing internal reporting.
Main Responsibilities:- Assessing coverage and preparing relevant correspondence to communicate with brokers and insured.
- Providing directions to independent adjusters in investigating claims.
- Evaluating and negotiating timely resolutions on assigned claims across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partnering with internal and external counsel in setting and pursuing effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies for claims in litigation.
- Coordinating and managing communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Consulting with Claims management and Claims Legal on Large Losses and ensuring all steps are taken to achieve the best outcome.
- Maintaining file notes, preparing internal reporting, and issuing payments in accordance with best practices guidelines.
- Identifying, monitoring, and reporting on emerging trends in the insurance industry and legislative changes.
- Extensive experience in a Bodily Injury/Casualty and Litigation claims handling role.
- Experience with managing both Commercial General Liability (CGL) and Auto Bodily Injury claims.
- Bachelor's degree or comparable degree.
- Obtained or working toward Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation preferred.
- Outstanding customer service orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized; ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Very collaborative and works well in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
