Senior Claims Specialist

Seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to drive claims resolution and customer service excellence in our Toronto office.
This role will play a critical part in AXA XL's claims team, working closely with underwriting teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess coverage and communicate with brokers and insured parties as needed.
- Provide direction to independent adjusters in investigating claims.
- Evaluate and negotiate timely resolutions on assigned claims across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with internal and external counsel to develop effective litigation strategies.
- Coordinate communication with stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Consult with Claims management and Claims Legal on large losses to achieve the best outcome.
- Maintain accurate file notes, prepare internal reporting, and manage electronic file diaries.
- Identify and report on emerging trends in the insurance industry and legislative changes.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Bodily Injury/Casualty and Litigation claims handling.
- Background in managing Commercial General Liability (CGL) and Auto Bodily Injury claims.
- Bachelor's degree or comparable degree.
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Collaborative team player with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
