The Opportunity:
Our client builds custom software solutions that help businesses streamline operations, manage data, and improve efficiency, and they are seeking a strategic and driven professional to help shape and expand their sales function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, enjoys taking ownership of their work, and is motivated by the challenge of selling complex, high-value solutions. Their projects range from web-based platforms to mobile applications, often integrating AI and other emerging technologies.
As a key member of the team, you will connect with businesses needing scalable, tailored software systems, guiding them through the sales process and demonstrating how these solutions can solve their challenges. You'll work closely with the leadership team, gaining direct mentorship from the president while playing a pivotal role in refining and executing their sales strategy.
What you will be Doing:
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and engage with potential clients who can benefit from our client's software consulting services
- Sales Process Development: Help establish and refine sales methodology, processes, and best practices
- Pipeline Management: Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, tracking progress and maintaining accurate records in HubSpot CRM
- Client Consultation: Understand client challenges and objectives, offering tailored software solutions that align with their business needs
- Proposal Development: Work with technical teams to develop compelling proposals that highlight our client's expertise and value
- Negotiation & Closing: Guide clients through the sales process, addressing concerns, negotiating terms, and successfully closing deals
- Collaboration with Technical Teams: Partner with developers and project managers to ensure alignment with client expectations
- Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activity to better position our client's solutions
- Marketing Collateral Enhancement: Identify gaps in current marketing materials and work with the team to develop effective sales collateral
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- Experience: 2+ years in a sales or business development role, preferably in technology or digital solutions
- Technical Understanding: Basic familiarity with cloud technology (especially Microsoft Azure), understanding of how mobile apps connect to the cloud, awareness of data storage concepts, and knowledge of secure REST APIs – don't worry, our client's expert technical team will provide support
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
- AI Tools Awareness: Understanding of AI tools that can enhance sales productivity and effectiveness
- Customer-Centric Approach: Ability to understand client pain points and propose customized solutions that deliver value
- Growth Mindset: Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new sales techniques, with enthusiasm for building and improving processes
- Self-Motivated: A proactive and driven individual who thrives in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
- CRM Experience: Familiarity with Hubspot or similar CRM platforms to track and manage sales activities
- Networking Ability: Comfortable attending events and engaging with prospective clients to build strong relationships
