About the Role
  • The Accounts Receivable Associate is responsible for providing accurate and effective daily accounting support services, with a focus on accounts receivable duties and reporting. Verify accuracy of payments from residential and commercial tenants of the Company and ensure all transactions of rental information and receipts are processed in a timely manner and entered into the accounting system.
  • Verify and process all documents and rent deposits received from the various field offices and process all rental information regarding tenants, transactions and units. Liaise and communicate with field accounts receivable staff as required to troubleshoot or clarify data. Ensure all information regarding payments has been completely and accurately entered into the accounting system.
  • Verify and process all adjustments to any residential or commercial tenant, ensuring that all changes are complete, accurate, and properly authorized. These will include new leases, lease renewals, move-outs, write-offs, and other necessary adjustments. Set up building and tenant information for new investor-owned projects.
Experience
  • 3-5 years related experience, preferably in a high-volume multi-company environment
  • A solid understanding of accounts receivable procedures and a basic understanding of general accounting procedures, particularly those relating to reconciliation of accounts and journal entries.
  • Knowledgeable in landlord-tenant matters and the Tenant Protection Act.
  • Strong customer services focus, with good communication, follow-up and problem-solving skills.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software systems, (knowledge of Netsuite is an asset).
  • Competency in MS Office with hands-on experience working with intermediate level Excel spreadsheets.
  • Organize multiple tasks, handle changing priorities and workloads in peak periods to meet all deadlines.
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail, data entry skills and an aptitude for numbers.
  • Experience with electronic document storage system is an asset.
  • Self-motivated and able to work cooperatively in a team environment, committed to providing a high level of client service.
