Position: Road Construction Contract Administrator (RCCA or P.Eng.)
Requirements
- Candidate should be designated by OACETT as the Road Construction Contract Administrator (RCCA) or certified by PEO as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment.
- Track record of design delivery for multi-discipline projects specifically, complex civil and facility projects.
- Responsible for Contract Administration of provincial and municipal infrastructure projects (Ontario).
Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Project Managers, designers, field inspectors, contractors, and clients on a daily basis.
- Process progress payments, change orders, submittals, IR/CR, change directives, lead site meetings, prepare minutes, and provide guidance to field staff in relation to construction contract documents.
- Work with the Construction Administration Team Lead in the overall management of project site staff and departmental initiatives.
- Work with Project Management staff to develop project policies and procedures related to quality, safety, the environment, and professional ethics.
- Conduct Constructability Reviews as required on projects.
- Liaise with Clients for future Construction work.
- Develop or verify the technical scope of a project, which may require onsite inspection.
- Site inspection as required to support project needs.
- Analyze project billings and prepare payment status reports.
- Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision making related to design changes.
- Ensure the project contract documents are being followed by the contractor (Client specifications, drawings, and standards).
- Administer the RFQ requirements for assigned contracts.
- Ensure quality control processes are being followed.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.
- Represent at Client meetings.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.
