JOB DESCRIPTION:

Medpoint is recruiting for an experienced medical office assistant to join our team The candidate will be required to work collaboratively with other health care professionals to manage the needs of patients as well as assist physicians as required.

Each day with us will vary, but in general you will be responsible for:

  1. Answering incoming phone calls and greeting patients.
  2. Managing waiting room, client’s needs and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
  3. Booking appointments, performing reminder calls, completing referrals, calling patients regarding results, and maintaining electronic health records.
  4. Performing administrative duties such as scanning, scheduling and filing.
  5. Performing clinical duties such as weights, blood pressure, and urine testing.
  6. Assisting physicians with sample collection and specimen handling.
  7. Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Medical Office Assistant or Medical Lab Technician Diploma
  • Proficiency with computers and EMR system
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
