Job Overview: The Fleet and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing our fleet of vehicles and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. This role involves coordinating vehicle maintenance, managing driver safety programs, and implementing best practices to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This is a hands-on role, requiring a balance of office and hands on tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the company’s vehicle fleet, including trucks, vans, and other transportation assets.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Organize urgent repairs and service in the event of breakdowns or collisions.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and manage inventory of supplies.
  • Coordinating all licensing requirements, and ensure necessary documentation is maintained.
  • Possibility to coordinate with/occasionally travel to our London office in the future.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all fleet operations comply with legislative requirements.
  • Management Chair of the Health and Safety Committee.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize accidents and improve overall safety.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Manage incident investigations and accident reports, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Driver Management:

  • Oversee driver recruitment, road testing, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Implement and manage driver safety programs, including defensive driving courses and safety workshops.
  • Monitor driver logs and compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Monitor driver compliance including licensing and abstracts
  • Address driver-related issues and enforce company policies regarding conduct and performance.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze fleet performance metrics, including fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and accident rates using a variety of software.
  • Prepare and present reports on fleet performance, safety incidents, and compliance to senior management.
  • Utilize data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the budget for fleet operations and safety programs.
  • Monitor expenditures and find cost-effective solutions for fleet maintenance and safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Valid AZ License and a minimum of 3 years’ driving experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, safety, or a similar role within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Able to learn new software and phone applications.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and analyze data to drive improvements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to adapt to different circumstances and changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. On call evenings and weekends for urgent matters only.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
