POSITION OVERVIEW

Reports to: Director, Global Compensation & Total Rewards

Location: While Vancouver, BC is the preferred location, we are open to diverse applicants from across Canada who will be a great add to our culture here at Eldorado on a remote basis.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Global Total Rewards will develop, lead and execute on Eldorado’s global total rewards strategy. This includes total rewards design, program implementations, annual compensation planning cycle, long-term incentive plan management, annual information circular disclosure, expatriate compensation design, communications, vendor management, compliance and budgeting. This role will work in close collaboration with the Director, Global Compensation & Total Rewards and the Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefits positions to ensure total rewards programs are designed and implemented to support our business strategy, strengthen our pay for performance culture, and support talent attraction, engagement and retention. This is a hands-on role for an experienced total rewards professional who possesses strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, equitable and sound judgement, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong communications skills, and demonstrated success in implementing total rewards programs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager, Global Total Rewards will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


Total Rewards

  • In close partnership with the Director, Global Compensation and Total Rewards, collaborates across functions to deliver the Compensation Discussion and Analysis (CD&A) section of Eldorado’s annual information circular disclosure.
  • Supporting the preparation of compensation committee materials throughout the year.
  • Continuously monitoring trends and developments in governance and executive compensation and makes recommendations to ensure our policies, programs and disclosure remain market aligned and industry leading.
  • Embedding total reward standards, policies and programs across the global organization.
  • Leading the review of expatriate compensation design, developing recommendations and managing implementation.
  • Leading and/or participating in the design, implementation, communication, and ongoing execution of total rewards programs including compensation, retirement, and benefits programs.
  • Collaborating with and providing support to regional HR leaders and total rewards specialists on design, delivery and communication of global total rewards programs and processes.
  • Managing the annual compensation planning cycle including salary planning, STIP and LTI programs for corporate and expat populations. Supporting global HR teams with annual compensation planning cycle and job evaluation.
  • Managing the administration of long-term incentives and ESPP programs.
  • Developing a global gender pay equity strategy, managing the annual global gender pay equity review, providing support to global HR leaders, making recommendations and managing reporting requirements including sustainability and pay transparency.
  • Conducting market analysis, participation in peer networking and analysis of market trends to make recommendations to ensure our compensation programs remain market aligned.
  • Preparing complex modeling, analyses and reports as the subject-matter expert.
  • Developing communications, intranet resources, and presentations to promote and educate on total rewards programs.
  • Participating in the annual budgeting process by working closely with HR and finance colleagues to deliver total rewards budget inputs.
  • Managing total rewards projects and vendor relationships.

Leadership

  • Providing direction to the Corporate HR Analyst position, establishing clear roles and responsibilities, ongoing leadership and performance feedback, coaching and training to support development.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability and strong performance within the total rewards team.
  • Participating in strategic planning activities, by contributing to a total rewards strategy that aligns with Eldorado’s long-term business strategy and HR team objectives.

Projects

  • Working collaboratively with leaders across the organization and within corporate and regional HR teams on special projects and sharing of best practices.
  • Contributing to global HR technology review and implementation project team.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years experience in total rewards with a focus on compensation.
  • Proven ability to work and build strategic partnerships in a dynamic, growing, global organization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail and strong compensation knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations in Canada and GDPR.
  • Project management experience in a global business is an asset.
  • Experience with expatriate compensation design and/or delivery is an asset.
  • Experience working within the mining industry is an asset.
  • CCP and/or CPHR designation is an asset.
  • Ability to travel nationally or internationally; the expected travel requirement is up to ~15% per year
