Summary

As the Global Head of Project Management at CellCarta, this person will play a pivotal role in overseeing and leading our project management teams worldwide. This role will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of all client projects within scope, budget, and timeline. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and involves collaboration with senior management, functional leads, and client stakeholders globally. As CellCarta continues to grow, this person will lead our efforts in integrating and optimizing project management across our diverse international teams.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
  • Lead the integration of three separate project management teams into a cohesive, unified unit.
  • Implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions and acceptance of new processes and methodologies that establish best practices.
  • Develop and implement global project management strategies aligned with business objectives and client needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project delivery processes and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Develop assessment criteria and define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate team and individual performance to achieve a high-performing customer-centric capabilities that leads to high customer feedback scores.
Client Engagement:
  • Serve as a key point of contact for strategic clients, ensuring alignment of project goals, expectations, and timelines.
  • Lead by example that enables consistent, proactive and transparent communication to clients on project status, change orders, issues, and resolutions.
Operational Excellence:
  • Establish standardized project management processes, tools, and methodologies across all teams to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Oversee project portfolio management, resource allocation, and budget management across all projects.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and best practices in project management.
Risk Management:
  • Enable and support identification potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Foster effective communication channels between project management teams to enhance collaboration and information sharing.
  • Collaborate closely with functional leads (operations, data analysis and data management etc.) to integrate project management efforts and optimize resource utilization.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business administration, and/or related field (advanced degree preferred).

Main Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing global teams and overseeing complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels, especially at the executive levels of customers and the CellCarta team.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification is desirable.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and systems (i.e. AdaptiveWork).

Working Conditions

  • Candidate must be located in Canada, Belgium, and/or the US.
