Maintenance Supervisor – Commercial buildings and outdoor facilities

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair work in buildings or large complexes. This role involves managing a team of General maintenance technicians, inspecting sites, executing work as necessary, maintaining equipment, and assigning workers to various projects.

PLEASE NOTE: This role is more of an office manager-type role than a hands-on role. The ideal candidate should have a trades background and be able to manage a team of general maintenance operatives.

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will organize the daily running of the engineering function, set daily priorities, plan PM activities, resolve equipment issues, and work with third-party contractors/suppliers. In addition to technical expertise, we require someone with excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships across the team, other departments, and external stakeholders.

Main Duties:
  • Supervise the Maintenance Team, aligning them with the company's vision, mission, strategies, and objectives.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Manager to establish performance standards across all facilities within an annual budget.
  • Assist in preparing a 5-year rolling capital replacement plan.
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and negotiating contracts to optimize delivery and cost savings.
  • Promote a high-performance culture that fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to identify risks, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety measures for staff and contractors.
Skills Required:
  • 3rd Level Qualification in a related discipline or equivalent (e.g., diploma, trade, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing maintenance operations and service delivery management.
