Role Overview
As the Operations Supervisor for our maintenance facility, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of the workshop, ensuring that all repair and maintenance activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with organizational standards. This position requires leading a team of skilled mechanics and technicians, managing workflow, controlling inventory levels, and maintaining exceptional standards of quality and productivity.
Your key responsibilities will encompass:
Directing and managing mechanics and technicians, allocating tasks based on urgency and expertise. Providing training and mentorship to team members, ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols. Overseeing and engaging in the diagnosis and repair of vehicles, ensuring timely maintenance services. Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks. Guaranteeing that all maintenance and repair tasks adhere to company standards and regulatory guidelines. Performing quality assessments on completed work and addressing any discrepancies swiftly. Organizing and prioritizing repair and maintenance assignments. Keeping precise records of work completed and parts utilized. Collaborating with the General Manager to ensure efficient workflow and resource management. Monitoring and managing the inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and stocking. Maintaining accurate inventory documentation. Advocating for and enforcing a safe working environment. Ensuring adherence to OSHA and other safety regulations. Conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions. Effectively communicating with drivers and other departments regarding maintenance concerns and repair updates. Addressing and resolving issues or complaints in a timely manner. Keeping detailed records of maintenance and repair activities. Compiling reports on workshop activities, performance metrics, and any challenges faced. Assisting in the development and revision of maintenance policies and procedures.Required Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess:
A high school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive or truck maintenance is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in truck maintenance and repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Proficient computer skills for record-keeping and reporting. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities. Proficiency in using maintenance and repair tools and equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards. Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. A keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality. A willingness to engage in ongoing training and development opportunities. A valid driver's license; CDL is preferred.Additional Considerations:
Work is conducted in a workshop environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and machinery. Occasional outdoor work may be necessary.
