As the Human Resources Manager reporting to the General Manager at "Craigleith", you will play a vital role in the ongoing success of the club and in ensuring our employees' satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include recruitment, onboarding & retention of up to 450 seasonal staff annually and fostering a high-engagement culture and a customer-first focus through retention efforts, communication, and HR program development.

You will also guide training and development identification and administration for all staff and ensure our policies are relevant and reflective of our culture.

You will be asked to report on the success of your initiatives and programs regularly and hold yourself accountable for defining, measuring, and achieving great results.


We are seeking someone who is also tech-savvy and capable of recommending, sourcing, and implementing efficient systems and technology solutions to streamline record-keeping and documentation, applicant tracking, and overall HR process efficiency.

As a self-starter, we will encourage you to actively identify areas for improvement and make valuable recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and execute effective sourcing, recruitment, onboarding, new hire training and retention strategies for up to 450 seasonal staff members each year.
  • Oversee the administration of training programs, ensuring staff members are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to align with best practices and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Foster a highengagement culture by implementing employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and by striving for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with department managers to address employee performance issues, provide guidance on disciplinary actions, and ensure fair and consistent enforcement of policies.
  • Recommend and implement technology solutions to streamline HR processes, such as recordkeeping, applicant tracking, and employee communication.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in HR practices, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality, and adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and workplace investigations as needed.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support companywide initiatives and drive a customerfirst focus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration (or a related field), or equivalent education and work experience.
  • CHRP/CHRM or similar designation would be an asset.
  • 57 years experience as a successful HR Manager and Recruiter in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality or recreational industry. Experience at a private club would be a bonus.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws, regulations, and best practices including OHSA, in which training or a designation would be preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Experience in high volume recruitment, onboarding, and training administration.
  • Technologically savvy, with the ability to recommend and implement HR systems and tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Proactive and selfmotivated, with the ability to work independently and make valuable recommendations for process improvement.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with integrity.
