As a Health Information Management Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient data. You will be responsible for coding and abstracting DAD and NACRS charts, using CIHI Guidelines and Principles, Ontario MOH guidelines, and hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Coding and abstracting DAD and NACRS charts
- Ensuring data quality and accuracy through data validation processes
- Generating reports and queries to identify discrepancies in the MED2020 system
- Communicating with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff on documentation issues
- Staying up-to-date with changes in coding practices, CIHI Guidelines/Principles, and hospital policies and procedures
- Graduate of an approved Health Information Management Program
- Experience in Meditech Expanse required
- Member in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and Certified with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM)
- 3 years' experience coding/abstracting with DAD
- Previous experience working in Release of Information a plus
- Competitive hourly rate of $32.79
