We are looking for a highly skilled and customer-focused Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our Total Rewards Department. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll and benefits services while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and collective agreement requirements. As a vital member of our team, you will work closely with the Manager of Payroll, contributing to a positive work culture that fosters growth and development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Process and administer payroll accurately and on time for all YVR employees, including salaried, hourly, and unionized employees, ensuring compliance with regulations and tax laws.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including time and attendance, vacation, sick leave, and other types of leave, while ensuring confidentiality and adhering to data privacy regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and leave, and resolving issues and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health and dental plans, pension plans, and other perquisites, and process employee changes accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and interpret payroll-related reports for regulatory bodies, management, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with payroll and benefits regulations and guidelines.

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role in a unionized environment with a proven track record of success
  • Completion of NPI (National Payroll Institute) PCP Program and accounting courses, or a combination of equivalent training and experience
  • Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce, UKG (Kronos), and SuccessFactors, or payroll and HRM systems experience is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manipulate and analyze complex data sets with ease
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

As part of our recruitment process, short-listed candidates may be required to participate in an assessment process.

Salary Range : $74,400 to $106,950 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target at 7.5% of your annual salary.
