JOB OVERVIEW:
STUDENT SUCCESS COACH, SCHOOL OF BUSINESS


The Student Success Coach is responsible for providing academic, career development, and industry related advice and support to year 3rd and 4th business bachelor level students, as well as to post-baccalaureate and graduate level business students.

Through guidance and use of leading and innovative practices, the Student Success Coach empowers students to achieve their academic goals, supports them to engage with the MBSI internship program, participate in industry networking events and supports students' career development with the goal of achieving a positive transition into meaningful employment after graduation.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a related filed (a Career Development Certificate, a related Master Degree, would be considered an asset).
  • 23 years of demonstrated recent advising or coaching experience (experience in a postsecondary institution, supporting students' career development, and experience working in at least one of: academic advising, career counselling and/or coaching, employment counselling, or student orientation would be considered an asset).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven ability to build, manage and provide leadership to cohesive teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Exceptional oral and written English communication skills, including the ability to persuade and influence individuals and groups with diverse needs and interests.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and inclusively to coordinate projects and initiatives among various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Demonstrated appreciation and understanding of the challenges of culturally diverse student population in globally oriented programs.
  • Exhibited the ability to problem solve, multitask, and be detailed oriented.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of career advancement.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset.
