What is the opportunity?


As the Sales Manager, Financial Planning, you achieve business results through sales and market leadership, implementation of strategic direction and representation in the local marketplace and industry associations.

Working in partnership with the area and other regional sales teams, you implement RBC strategies, processes and disciplines to achieve sustainable earnings and revenue growth through a team of Certified Financial Planners.

In this role you coach and develop an effective, adaptable Financial Planning sales force to maximize revenue and capitalize on opportunities.

As a leader you reinforce with your team to achieve a superior client experience and enhance employee capability and engagement while leveraging full RBC capabilities, in platform and across the enterprise to deepen client relationships.


What will you do?

  • Achieve business results through sales and market leadership, implementation of strategic direction and representation in the local marketplace
  • Works in partnership with Regional Sales teams to implement strategies, processes and disciplines to ensure a high level of financial advice and relationship management for clients with sophisticated financial needs
  • Develops an effective, adaptable sales force to ensure a differentiated experience for our clients. Champions sales management practices and leads in the implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Enhances employee commitment and capability and customer loyalty while leveraging full RBC Financial Group capabilities, including specialized sales forces, alternate delivery channels, and service partners
  • Coach your team on client advice and education, problem resolution and prevention at first point of contact, and advocate for digital enablement and multichannel usage

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • Personal Financial Planner or Certified Financial Planner (PFP/CFP) designation
  • Mutual Funds accreditation (IFIC or CSC) and minimum 2 years of licensed mutual funds sales experience within the last 3 years
  • Branch Compliance Officer (BCO)
  • Completed an acceptable mutual fund branch management exam offered by the CSI, or ability to write an exam within 4 months of start date
  • A minimum of 3 years Sales Management experience, with a proven track record of sales managing teams of investment professionals
  • Ability to employ digital channels, drive client awareness, and ensure your team is enabling clients with RBC digital access
Nice-to-have
