Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team at Toronto Community Housing. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing our company-wide annual budgeting processes, including consolidation, analysis, and preparation of board packages.
Key Responsibilities- Annual Budgeting Process: Oversee the consolidation and development of a company-wide cost center framework, including operating units, departments, and development subsidiaries.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare annual budget presentations for board members, highlighting material assumptions and trends in the company's operating environment.
- Project Planning: Work closely with functional leaders to identify and highlight financial risks associated with projects, and prepare reports and propose financing plans to address potential cash shortfalls.
- Corporate Financial Planning: Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer to identify areas and properties of financial deficiencies and propose remediation plans.
- Quarterly Financial Performance Report: Manage quarterly analysis and reporting to the board of actual results against budget, highlighting explanations for material variances.
- Ad-hoc Financial Analysis: Provide valuable financial analysis on results using short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and similar financial analysis to provide insight on trends and enable forward-looking decisions.
- Experience: 7-10 years of progressive/management experience with a focus on corporate financial analysis, and 10+ years in a senior management role with corporate accounting and financial analysis in a complex real estate organization (250+ staff) with experience in managing large and complex budgets.
- Education: University degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Designation: CPA Accounting Designation.
- Skills: Strong experience and knowledge in documenting, establishing, and maintaining sound financial internal controls, and experience leading a team of competent Financial Analysts with proven experience in recognizing the importance of building consensus among multi-level stakeholders within the organization to achieve results.
