Job Title: Financial Planning Analyst

Join the City of Toronto's Finance Department as a Financial Planning Analyst and contribute to the development of the City's capital budget. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing financial planning and analysis support to various departments and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consolidate budget and plan information into SAP and Captor systems
  • Prepare the 10-year Capital Budget Summary, Debt Targets, and other detailed analysis
  • Participate in managing the Capital Budget System maintenance process
  • Provide training and assistance to users on Captor and capital policy
  • Perform quality assurance of data received from divisional programs and Financial Planning Analysts
  • Prepare schedules, worksheets, and comprehensive reports
  • Monitor divisional programs and Financial Planning Analyst submissions and commentaries
  • Prepare the Capital Variance worksheets and memos
  • Prepare the Capital Budget Summary, the City's debt target schedule, and the 10-year plan
Requirements:
  • Considerable experience in capital budget program support and expertise
  • Experience with enterprise-wide financial and capital budgeting systems such as SAP and Captor
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and produce results within tight timeframes
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential matters
  • Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with relevant government legislation and regulations
