Job Summary:

The City of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Budget Coordinator to join our Finance and Administration team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing, coordinating, and implementing the operating and capital budgets for the Toronto Shelter and Support Services (TSSS) division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the annual budget process and provide analytical support to program areas.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Monitor and analyze expenditures, revenues, and management of capital and operating budgets.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Supervise and train staff on budget and financial planning processes.
  • Develop and implement financial control systems to ensure compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Participate in financial control system reviews to ensure the integrity of program payments and revenue streams.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function, such as accounting or finance.
  • Considerable experience in financial planning, budget analysis, and financial control.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other computer-based systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Experience working with federal or provincial funding, or other cost-shared programs.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.
