Job Description

Job Summary:

The City of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Planning department, you will be responsible for providing expert financial planning and analysis support to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate and analyze budget and plan information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and maintain complex financial reports, schedules, and worksheets to support decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with City staff and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide training and support to users on financial planning and budgeting systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial planning and budgeting policies and procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Perform quality assurance and control of financial data and reports.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in financial planning and budgeting systems, including SAP and Captor.
  • Provide business analysis support to developers and stakeholders to ensure effective system implementation.
  • Develop and maintain professional, respectful, and pleasant working relationships with City staff and external stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:

  • Considerable experience in financial planning and budgeting, including capital budget program support and expertise.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide financial and capital budgeting systems, such as SAP and Captor.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize complex financial data to support decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and produce results within tight timeframes.
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders.
