This Opportunity


We are currently looking to fill 1 Part Time - Personal Care Attendant roles known internally as Support Service Attendant for
the county of Wellington - Fergus.

Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Starting wage is
$21.68 per hour.

This wage includes the $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients ($18.68 starting).


Valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle required.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Assists clients in their own homes with nonmedical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
  • Personal care
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Rising/retiring
  • Incontinence care upon training
  • Bowel and bladder procedures
  • Meal preparation and feeding
  • Lifts and Transfers upon training
  • Range of motion exercises
  • Other light housekeeping duties
  • Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.
  • The Support Services Attendants will be required to work multiple shifts (i.e. workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that vary between locations.

Qualifications and experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working with people with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset but not required
  • Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation REQUIRED
