As the
Director, Corporate Services, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the Canadian accounting standards for non-for-profit organizations (ASNPO) and company policy to allow for clear financial information and assist in decision making to improve financial performance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Responsible for the oversight, management and delivery of all aspects of the Corporate Services department, including:

-
Accounting and Finance:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and forecasting for the organization.
  • Create projections and analyze trends to identify areas of concern and make recommendations to CFO.
  • Assist with business planning and lead budget process for organization.
  • Oversee investment of funds, review investment strategies and manage relationships with banks and investment institutions.

- **Payroll and Benefits**:
  • Ensure payroll and benefits administration occurs in timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with the Director, People & Culture to proactively manage benefit program.
  • Manage relationship with actuary, pension advisor and benefit providers.

- **Finance Transformation**:
  • Support the Program Manager, Finance Transformation on financial components of organization
  • wide projects and initiatives.
  • Establish and develop applicable policies and procedure to support the financial operation of the organization; ensure financial controls are in place.
  • Support organizational training, knowledge, and adherence to financial control framework.

- **Administration**:
  • Manage the team to ensure appropriate risk management, contract management and insurance needs are met.
  • Ensure support services are in place to allow for effective and efficient administrative operations of CPSA.
- **Accountable for the department planning, budgeting and financial reporting**:
  • Responsible for the evaluation and achievement of the departmental mission, goals, and financial objectives.
  • Develop department short and longterm plans and budgets; monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Responsible for variance reporting and forecasting financial results for department.

- **Additional responsibilities**:
  • Consult the CFO to plan and prepare materials for Finance and Audit Committee meetings.
  • Encourage leadership competencies in team members.
  • Actively contribute to maintaining and enhancing a positive culture at CPSA.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.

Experience:

  • Requirement for 812 years of professional experience, including previous leadership experience.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to host effective presentations.
  • Collaborative and innovative in ideas and approaches.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

SALARY
The salary for this position is $166,000 and includes a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.
