Work Arrangement:

Onsite - You'll work primarily from an ATB branch, corporate office or client location, with some remote flexibility.

As ATB's next Director, Business Credit you will be responsible for providing positive adjudication, profitable growth and management of ATB's Mid Market Business Banking loan portfolio. Generally, this will encompass Diversified industry transactions up to $10 million. Support is also provided to other Mid Market Diversified adjudicators.

Director, Business Credit Accountabilities:

  • Maintain a mastery level of knowledge in their area of responsibility and credit risk
  • Ensure the policies, procedures, products or services they are responsible for remain current, competitive, relevant, and simple.
  • Work within the delegated specific lending limits.
  • Assume ownership of the adjudicated files and projects they have responsibility for.
  • Maintain a positive partner experience 100% of the time and both our Service Level Agreement and Productivity standards.
  • Provide client coaching and/or mentoring on transactions or policy related matters.
  • Continuously adapting to the changing environment that they work within.
  • Working collaboratively with other Credit team members and those within the Areas of Expertise.
  • Develop or redesigning processes and products to be simple and effective.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years mid market/corporate lending experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in the diversified sector would be an asset.
  • Experience as a Relationship Manager or in a Credit adjudication capacity is desirable.
  • Postsecondary education in Business, CFA, MBA or an equivalent discipline would be an asset.
  • While not required initially, you will be required to develop a mastery level of knowledge of the industries and the policy/products/processes that will be assigned.
  • The intuitive ability to balance a number of diverse transactions and arrive at a sound decision and structure quickly.
  • The ability to identify and measure (both in terms of probability and quantity) risk and establish appropriate methods to monitor and manage.
  • Possesses the leadership attributes supported by ATB (i.e., the intrinsic motivation and drive to excel; the ability to build sustaining relationships).
