About Us:


The mandate of Elections Alberta is to administer open, fair, and impartial elections by providing stakeholders with the necessary information and means to participate in the democratic process.

We also provide support to election officials to ensure impartial service delivery and serve in an advisory and regulatory role to achieve compliance in electoral finance activities.

Elections Alberta is a non-partisan office of the Legislative Assembly.

Role:


As the Manager, Corporate Services, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to staff in their roles and related functions, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective corporate services.

Understanding the operations of each department, key timelines, and support requirements is crucial in this role.

By exemplifying organizational values and positive culture, you will create an environment that fosters staff achievement, while also building organizational capacity for the future.


You will ensure engagement and communication strategies are effective and conducted in accordance with Election Alberta's vision, mission and mandate.

You will maintain partnerships and good working relationships with external vendors supporting the corporate services area.

In addition, you will participate in the creation of key messages and various communication materials, for internal and external audiences, to provide meaningful information to Albertans.


In addition, you will coordinate the development of Elections Alberta's corporate policies and identify, recommend and update new policies related to corporate services as required.

You will collaborate on human resources planning and strategy to align with organizational objectives. You will provide insight on people management, recruitment, and retention plans and best practices.

You will also oversee the office's administrative services.

You will develop standards by identifying procedural issues, make recommendations for streamlining processes, and work with all affected stakeholders to implement solutions to ensure a welcoming and professional environment is achieved.

Your excellent organizational skills and record management strategies will ensure materials are handled and stored appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a related field plus five years of related progressively responsible experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of leadership and supervisory principles.
  • Knowledge of and experience in interpreting applicable legislation.
  • Demonstrated strengths in project management, coordination and organization skills to meet changing demands.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to identify and respond to the needs of a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop partnerships and good working relationships with stakeholders and external vendors supporting the corporate services area.
  • Familiarity in communications, social media management, human resources, records management, and public/customer service is an asset.
