As a Wilderness Stays team member, you'll be responsible for ensuring our campground facilities are maintained to the general manager's standards while providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all guests.

You'll perform basic landscaping and maintenance duties, and cleaning and maintaining campsites, day-use areas, and all public areas of the property.

Responsibilities include revenue collection, managing and posting reservations if applicable, enforcing parking compliance and campground guidelines, and maintaining a high level of communication between guests, co-workers, and management.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensuring campground facilities are maintained to general manager's standards while also ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for all guests and areas
  • Basic landscaping and maintenance duties including raking and trimming of branches, painting, etc.
  • Cleaning and maintaining campsites, dayuse areas, and all public areas of the property.
  • Maintaining food waste bins and picking up litter around all areas of campground.
  • Revenue Collection (collecting camping fees, issuing user permits, supplying revenue reports and cashouts sheets). Follow proper cash handling and recordkeeping procedures.
  • Manage and post reservations if applicable.
  • Open designated campground gates to the public and close the gates at the end of the day.
  • Enforce parking compliance.
  • Ensure campground compliance and security by ensuring campground areas are patrolled and guests are abiding by the campground usage guidelines and enforcing quiet hours.
  • Maintain a high level of communication between guests, coworkers and the manager.
  • Maintain a safe and positive work environment.
  • Monitor what's going on in the campground and respond appropriately.
  • Assist campground guests and visitors with basic questions and requests.
  • Other related duties as required.

Pay:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • East Dover, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
  • Administrative: 1 year (preferred)
  • Front desk: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
