Overview:
Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. has an immediate opening for a Commercial Sales Business Development Leader for Eastern Canada.

A successful team member will work to build and execute business development plans, educate, and train commercial accounts on Lutron's newest Commercial technology solutions to drive specifications and sales of strategic products.

This role will work directly with end user customers, contractors, distributors, integrators, specifiers, and reps across multiple geographies in the Eastern Canada region.


Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and surpass annual sales growth targets as an individual and for the commercial sales team
  • Build deep toptotop relationships with assigned end user accounts to build an increasing Lutron opportunity pipeline and ensure consistent, longterm business
  • Earn an account's mindshare and that of its specifiers to position Lutron as basis of design
  • Provide Lutron solution recommendations to meet the account's vision and design intent
  • Create and execute account development and training plans to ensure commercial business growth
  • Progress current commercial accounts from vendor to business partner or trusted advisor status while seeking new account relationships to grow the business
  • Partner with Lutron's North American sales teams and manufacturer Rep agents to identify, understand and coordinate a spec to close strategy on assigned account projects
  • Manage assigned account profiles/contacts and opportunity pipeline in Salesforce to facilitate direct marketing activities and support project management
  • Successfully map out the decision makers / stakeholders at the target customer
  • Developer/GC: Procurement, Design, Construction, Business Development
  • Hospitality: Interior design, MEP, IT, project managers, Integrator, Hotel Brand team
  • End User: Facility team, design and construction team, IT team, Engineering/Design
  • RUS: Facility teams, finance, other stakeholders
  • Gov/Mil/ESCOs: Facility team, contractors, design and construction team, energy managers
  • Track target end user business / project pipeline
  • Lutron's position in project vs competition
  • Identify, qualify, and close new construction projects
  • Coordinate across multiple locations of the target customer to position, specify, and sell Lutron's products
  • Work closely within Lutron corporate, estimating, spec services, and area structure to establish budgeting or quoted pricing to the end client

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree Preferred, Secondary School Diploma required
  • 5+ years sales experience required
  • Willingness to travel to various locations for training or client visits (up to 50%)
  • Ability to travel to the United States once a quarter
  • Valid drivers license for Canada
