About the role

The HR Coordinator role offers a dynamic opportunity to make a strategic contribution across all aspects of Human Resources. You'll collaborate closely with your local business partners, playing a key role in recruitment, administrative functions, employee relations, and internal communications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Corporate Human Resource (HR) and Payroll Team to assist in the development and implementation of HR strategy and strategic initiatives;
  • Conducts full cycle recruitment activities for client group from identifying staffing needs to posting positions, conducting interviews and preparing offers for successful candidates;
  • Participates in developing training on corporate policies and procedures in the areas of staffing, compensation, compliance, employee relations and benefits;
  • Ensures compliance with provincial and federal laws and regulations relating to employment standards, human rights, privacy legislation and employment equity;
  • Advises and educates employees regarding company programs, benefits and policies;
  • Assists with administrative tasks within the HR department;
  • Prepares routine correspondence;
  • Maintains and updates all employee files;
  • Assists in organizing employee events, employee communications and HR intranet content;
  • Ensures that all Human Resource forms, policies, manuals etc. are up-to-date;
  • Utilizes HR and payroll information systems to manage employee information;
  • Responds to inquiries from employees regarding routine calls and emails;
  • Responds to requests for information from outside sources (including reference checks, personnel file requests, wage information, etc.);
  • Develops and delivers orientation for new employees;
  • May assist with other Human Resources Projects;
  • Other duties as assigned.

About you:

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with provincial Employment standards and regulations
  • Strong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated judgment, creativity, integrity and ability to problem solve;
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal;
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Visio;
  • Ability to effectively handle escalations and time critical issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a university degree or equivalent is required;
  • A minimum of one year of previous HR related experience required;
  • CHRP or working towards CHRP designation preferred.
