We are currently looking for a Day Camp Counsellor to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time summer contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury .
Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Recreational Programming or Manager of Day Camps and Community Development, the Day Camp Counsellor is responsible for program planning and delivery to ensure participant satisfaction. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is dynamic, able to work as part of a progressive team, enjoys working with children and who is capable of managing multiple tasks.
Plan and deliver daily programs: group games, crafts, swimming, outside time, etc.
Apply behavior management training techniques with the program participants
Maintain the inventory of required supplies and request more when needed
Welcome all children to programs
Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization
Experience working/leading group activities with children ages 3 to 12 years of age (i.e. babysitting)
