WildBrain is looking for a CFX Supervisor to join our StudioAs our CFX Supervisor you will develop new processes and standards to push innovation, quality, efficiency, and the evolution of our CFX department. This foundational role will establish and grow our CFX department, influence and guide our CFX rig simulations, and implement studio best practices for high end production workflows.Reporting to the VP, Production Technology the CFX Supervisor is ultimately responsible for establishing the direction of our CG CFX department. You will oversee any productions that require the use of CFX either directly or through reports.Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat You'll Do:Create character effects simulation rigs and libraries, including cloth, skin, muscle systems and dynamic interactions between environments and other charactersDefine and re-evaluate our CFX processes, workflows and tools to support and further the CFX department’s toolset in conjunction with production and pipelineImplement Best practices and document same for CFX departmentCollaborate with fellow Heads of Departments to ensure our teams continue to work together towards the same goals and timelinesEstablish training materials and creation of Wiki to document process.Assist with the recruitment and the growth of a CFX department to best support productionCommunicate and mentor the CFX teams to build a high functioning, growth minded team dynamicProvide feedback, assessments and recommendations to Senior Management to improve the quality and performance of the Groom pipelineParticipate in new project bids defining capabilities, infrastructure needs, costs, and process.Task assignment and casting as necessaryProvide feedback and provide direction on CFX team submissionWhat You'll Bring:5+ years’ experience leading and supervising CFX or Rigging teams in film and tvDemonstrable knowledge of modern CFX practices in Houdini, Maya, Nuke or Unreal and their application in breaking down complex CFX problems finding solutions achievable within budget and scheduleThorough knowledge of cloth simulation and expertise in muscle, skin, fat, hair and fur simulationsAbility to build and implement scalable CFX simulation rigs and implement CFX librariesExtensive knowledge of CG pipelines and workflowsA passion for building up and mentoring others to be better supervisors and artistsGood knowledge of Flow Production Tracking (formerly known as ShotGrid)Nice to Have: Experience working in studios with multiple concurrent projects.Experience developing with Python, or other object-oriented programming languageExperience defining and collaborating on tools and software in a professional environment Pay Range: $140,000 to 150,000 annually.Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role.
