Our Territory Managers are self-driven individuals that work out of home offices in their assigned territories. Territory Managers are responsible for cultivating new customers and providing excellent service to existing customers by performing the following duties:
Duties:
- 90% of sales is showing up. We expect 15 to 20 in-person sales calls/week when on the road.
- Generating leads, cold-call prospecting, researching trade journals and using other sales management tools.
- Target decision makers and build relationships with companies in your territory to get an understanding of their requirements and needs.
- Use your knowledge of paper/film/foil converting products to help you evaluate customer needs, provide solutions to issues they may be experiencing and determine how you can provide them with total customer satisfaction.
- Manage the entire sales process from telemarketing, arranging qualified visits to customers, provide solutions, provide quote and close the deal.
- Travel throughout your territory (at least 70%) on a regular basis to existing customers and prospective customers.
- Communicate technical capabilities of Goldenrod’s products, pricing, and performance clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Participate in trade shows and sales meetings.
Requirements: College graduate preferred (but not critical) with a major in business or engineering. Two year's prior sales experience managing a territory. Knowledge of the paper, film & foil converting industry and territory would be very advantageous.
- Familiarity with the flexible web industry. (Industry includes any process that involves unwinding or rewinding rolls of material that could be paper, film, foil, tissue, laminates and more).
- Industries that could be included are flexible packaging / web printing / corrugating / tissue and paper processing / metal strip and coil processing / any material that can be found in a roll and wound or unwound.
- …Should be comfortable on a plant floor and around machinery. Someone that knows what a printing press, laminator, paper machine, slitter/rewinder, coater is and knows some of the jargon.
- …Should have technical aptitude and be able use tape measure and digital caliper to measure items that need to be quoted.
- …Should have exceptional organizational / time mgt skills that translate into managing a large geographical territory.
- …Should be open to extensive overnight travel (50%+).
- …Looking for sales professional that continually tries to improve his/her approach.
