The company is building on a heritage of 70 years of automotive safety development and has approximately 2,700 employees in 11 countries.


Our client is looking for a senior Human Resources leader to manage HR across Canada. This is a tremendous career opportunity for an experienced, customer focused and results-driven HR leader to join a global organization.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization’s Human Resources (~400 employees) at an electronics manufacturing facility by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices
  • Develop organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Implement human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee and labour relations, legal compliance, health and safety, and payroll
  • Develop human resources operations financial strategies for collective bargaining and fiscal year
  • Support site leadership team by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications
  • Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values
  • Comply with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Administer three pension plans and oversee employee benefits plans. 
  • Act as an ambassador for Veoneer and assists in promoting and influencing the desired culture
  • Provide recommendations for corrective action, policy revision and/or improving employee relations
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive human resources experience with at least 3 years of supervisory or management experience in the field
  • Labour relations experience including the negotiation of Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Must have strong strategic thinking ability, leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing/engineering facility is an asset
  • HR Certification is an asset.
