Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Unit Manager and Manager of the Southern Alberta Organ and Tissue Donation Program, the Instructor - Donor Coordinator position uses specialized knowledge and skills to coordinate the logistics of organ and tissue donation cases. Specifically,the Donor Coordinator position is responsible for coordination of all aspects of cadaveric tissue donation referral and organ donation referral, assessment, acceptance, allocation, surgical recovery and distribution, as well as, providing support for health care providers and families. This includes travel to the various acute care sites in Calgary to support donation locally and coordinating referrals from acute care sites in South Zone.

Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
