Your Opportunity:
Come join our Calgary Rural Team as a Clinical Nurse Educator, in a part time position based out of Nanton, Supportive Living (SL) site, Silver Willow Lodge. The Instructor (CNE) - of Continuing Care/SL will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating the education activities for designated nursing staff to support clinical competencies, organizational standards/practices/guidelines in collaboration with the leadership team. Using adult learning principles, the CNE develops and delivers education activities for orientation, mandatory education, clinical competencies and change in policies, procedures and protocols as well as other practice support documents to promote clinical competence for nursing (RN, LPN & HCA) staff. The CNE determines appropriate education based on identified needs. May be proving education as needed to site staff - non nursing and AHS if needed for resident care and needs. Example - PPE and hand hygiene. The CNE may also participate in the provision of direct and/or indirect patient care. The CNE functions as a change agent and resource to nursing staff for professional development and clinical competence in the designated patient care setting of continuing care/SL. The CNE collaborates with the manager around quality improvement strategies and facilitates appropriate educational activities and process changes. The CNE Collaborates with the health car team at the unit, department, site (Mosquito Creek Foundation), zone and provincial level as necessary. Your instruction to staff and leadership of these departments will be in support of the vision, mission and business plan of AHS. A typical week of work as the CNE, will consist of only day shifts; 2-3 days during the weekdays. Note this position is based out of Nanton (70 kms south of the Calgary city limits).

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
