We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Intermediate Property Accountant to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in the CPA program and have a solid foundation in accounting principles, with a specific focus on property management and real estate accounting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Property Accounting:
  • Manage and maintain property-specific general ledgers, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Handle all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management for assigned properties.
  • Assist in the preparation of operating budgets and forecasts, and monitor variances against actual results.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Lease Administration:
  • Review and record lease agreements, ensuring accurate billing of rent and other charges.
  • Track lease obligations, tenant charges, and rent rolls, and ensure compliance with lease terms.
  • Audit Support:
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with property managers, asset managers, and other stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and address any accounting-related issues.
  • Provide financial insights and support to management to aid in decision-making.




Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Actively enrolled in the CPA program, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate accounting but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
