We are in search of a dedicated Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our team In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and punctual employee payroll as well as managing benefit programs and handling Workers’ Compensation Claims. Your contributions will be instrumental in upholding employee satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and financial stability within our organization. As a member of our finance team, you will report to the company Controller and actively promote employee engagement and the overall success of our operations.

- We are hiring a full-time payroll and benefits administrator to work in our office. As a Payroll and Benefits Administrator & Admin Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our team, contributing to the organization's reputation for reliability and financial integrity. Your primary responsibilities will include:_

**Payroll Processing**:

- Timely and accurate entries and reconciliation of Canadian and US payroll systems
- Collaborate with department managers on timesheet entries
- Manage vacation, absenteeism, and other leaves, through the payroll systems in line with company policy and local legislation
- Serve as a resource for employees with payroll-related questions.

**Employee Expense Reimbursement**:

- Oversee the reimbursement process for employee expenses.

**Benefits Administration**:

- Handle employee enrollment, maintenance, and offboarding of benefits programs for Canadian and US employees
- Process and submit RRSP and DPSP contributions
- Act as a resource for employees with benefits-related inquiries

**WCB (Workers' Compensation Board)**:

- Process WCB claims, advocating for both employees and the company
- Collaborate with the management team to analyze claims

**People and Culture (P&C) Support**:

- Assist the P&C department in recruitment and selection processes.
- Support social activities and administrative tasks as needed.

**Receptionist Duties**:

- Serve as the first point of contact for the organization.
- Answer phones and welcome visitors and staff to the office.
- Provide general assistance to all areas as required.

**Competencies**:

- Proficient in Excel and other relevant software (Payworks).
- Strong attention to detail and orientation to details.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enthusiastic and reliable team player.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Reliable transportation, as HERD is not accessible via public transportation routes
- We highly value previous experience in payroll processing and benefits administration and familiarity with WCB regulations.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset
