Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families: Reporting to the Executive Director, Primary Care and Chronic Disease Management, and working in a collaborative team environment, the Leader, Community Engagement works within the Fraser Health Community Engagement team to enhance and promote partner engagement in health service planning and decision-making. The Leader is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating FHA partner engagement activities such as public and patient consultations to support organization and program strategy, as well as the development of digital engagement strategies to augment existing engagement processes. The Leader works primarily with FHA regional teams as a resource to planning teams and organizational leaders in developing engagement strategies to support health systems improvement, planning, policy and strategy development. Responsibilities Designs, implements and reports on engagement processes with key partners. Promotes patient and public engagement in planning and decision-making within the health authority. Assists in the development and implementation of digital engagement strategies to support public and patient participation in organizational and program planning and development. Recruits, supports and engages members of the Community Engagement Advisory Network. Represents the CE department on internal and external working groups. Develops and facilitates educational programs for staff related to patient and public engagement. Conducts monitoring and evaluation of CE activities. Develops and presents written and oral reports of CE processes and recommendations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Masters Degree in a health care related field such as community engagement, community development or communications/marketing; supplemented by a minimum of 5-7 years experience in a role specializing in public/partner engagement and consultation; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Certification in the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) is considered an asset. COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring and Courageous and creates the conditions for people to succeed. Professional/Technical Capabilities Demonstrated ability to design, lead and evaluate a range of community engagement projects. Knowledge of leading-edge public engagement practice including web-based engagement. Knowledge of complex organizational and system dynamics in terms of involving multiple partners; knowledge of community organizations and services; knowledge and understanding of socioeconomic determinants of health. Superior communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Strong writing skills. Demonstrated community and organizational development skills. Builds credibility, understanding and trust in the external community to assist FHA to meet its strategic directions. Trauma informed/commitment to anti-racist, culturally appropriate approach. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis, including questionnaire design, interviewing skills and content analysis. Demonstrated ability to build cooperative and consultative partnerships with senior staff. Demonstrated ability to independently determine appropriate levels of engagement with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring senior staff are informed. Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and innovation. Demonstrated computer literacy and word processing skills. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
