Pickering College offers all students from JK to Grade 12 exceptional and meaningful learning opportunities through its co-curricular program which is a fundamental part of each student's school experience. Our students learn to lead a balanced and purposeful life; they explore and develop their skills and talents beyond the classroom. The co-curricular program encourages students to participate in a myriad of activities whose common ground is passionate engagement: competitive athletics, recreational sports, diverse clubs, community outreach opportunities and artistic, musical and special interests.

The co-curricular program inspires students to strive for excellence, develop imaginative insights and innovative ideas, and to act on their beliefs. We are looking for a leader with vision who can take our co-curricular program to the next level.

Reporting to the Assistant Head, Academics and Student Programs, the Co-curricular Director has the responsibility to develop, coordinate, supervise and communicate the co-curricular program for the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. In addition, the Co-curricular Director will have coaching and teaching responsibilities. Our teachers must possess the following qualities: passion, compassion, expertise in their subject area, instructional expertise and curriculum innovation. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Bachelor of Education with specialist qualifications in Physical and Health Education preferred; Ontario Teachers Certificate or equivalent; 3 years of previous experience as Athletic /Co-curricular Director or similar role; A passionate and enthusiastic teacher and positive role model; Strong organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills; Strong technology background Ability to demonstrate and articulate a passion for innovation and creativity in education; Demonstrated commitment to students’ academic and personal success; Demonstrated leadership experience and strategic thinking; Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work collaboratively with others; Ability to engage and execute objectives of Pickering College’s Global Leadership Program; Coaching experience required; ESL qualifications an asset; Independent School experience is an asset.
