Mailroom Clerk

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our client’s team in the printing industry. This role involves managing a variety of mailroom and facility support tasks, with a strong emphasis on communication, teamwork, and customer service. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of handling physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment.
What is in it for you:
• Hourly salary of $22.
• 12-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• On-site work in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare mail and packages for external shipment, utilizing various mail services, air express, freight, and postal options.
• Receive, sort, and process mail documents, packages, and supplies, notifying recipients as required.
• Operate color production printers for basic printing tasks.
• Record and maintain logs for accountable mail information, including charge-back reporting for postage and other delivery services.
• Arrange alternative courier or shipping services to meet customer needs.
• Perform quality checks on outbound mail and manage electronic mail distribution through scanning and preparation.
• Complete fulfillment tasks, including assembly, packaging, and kitting of materials.
• Ensure mailroom security procedures are followed and perform logging, transmission, and distribution of faxes.
• Deliver and pick up mail on scheduled runs, and monitor supplies inventory, placing orders as necessary.
• Provide facility support, including setting up meeting and training rooms, assisting with catering, and ensuring kitchens and coffee stations are properly stocked and organized.
• Respond to employee service requests and follow up on open facilities tickets to completion.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance cost savings and workflow optimization.
• Track, trace, and resolve mail issues and concerns.
• Physically able to be on your feet for 80% of the workday and lift items up to 50 pounds.
What you will need to succeed:
• High School diploma or equivalent, with verification.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a professional, client-facing environment.
• Previous experience in dock operations, with skills in handling lift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Good communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and Teams.
• Self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks, and perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Able to read, write, and follow English instructions effectively.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Work requires extended periods of sitting or standing, with sustained physical effort during room set-ups.
