About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Emerging & Re-emerging Infections Network (ERIN) leadership team, the Planning and Evaluation Coordinator works collaboratively with program content leads to support planning and evaluation needs and may include developing logic models, developing and implementing appropriate frameworks for evaluation and monitoring activities (evaluability assessments, process/outcomes/impact evaluations). Recommendations resulting from these activities may have implications on budget, staff complement, staff mix and performance management of staff. 

 

The Planning and Evaluation Consultant is responsible for the following evaluation activities: engaging evaluation users/contributors, identifying evaluation purpose with a focus to support evaluation use, selecting the appropriate data collection methodology (focus groups, interviews, surveys, case studies, document review, etc.), identifying or developing appropriate measurement tools, gathering credible-reliable and valid data, establishing information management processes, analysing the information, interpreting findings, developing recommendations, and presenting findings and recommendations in reports and presentations for a variety of audiences. 

 

The Planning and Evaluation Consultant uses project management strategies to ensure the project is on-track/on-time, stakeholders are engaged, and the knowledge is shared/disseminated, as needed. 

 

The Planning and Evaluation Consultant will adhere to the Canadian Evaluation Society ethics statement.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Masters degree in program evaluation, public health, health administration, social sciences, or community health, with an emphasis on program planning and evaluation.
  • Minimum five years of experience in planning, evaluation, quality improvement, or social science research.
  • Preference may be given to individuals with the Canadian Evaluation Society's Credentialed Evaluator designation.  
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities aligned with the Canadian Evaluation Society Evaluator Competencies
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing evaluation initiatives
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including government partners, organizational colleagues, and community groups
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and facilitation skills         
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of methodologies related to research and evaluation, systematic literature reviews, and environmental scans
  • Very strong qualitative and quantitative analysis, synthesis, interpretation skills
  • Experience developing knowledge translation products
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits

$37.61 - $47.01 Hourly
