As a Corporate Communications Specialist, you will work specifically in the areas of internal communications and support the areas of external communications and social media. It’s an exciting time to work in the energy industry – as our company continues to provide the safe and reliable energy that people need, while taking concrete steps to evolve our business for the future. Developing strong, thoughtful communications strategies for our internal and external audiences provides interesting work that is different every day, as our Corporate Communications team collaborates with departments across our business – from our refineries in Saint John, NB, and Whitegate, Ireland, to our retail and strategic program delivery teams.
Working as a collaborative team player with a keen sense of curiosity, this Corporate Communications Specialist position focuses on the development of internal communications materials and experiences that drive engagement and connect teams. You will also support our company’s culture through reputation management, relationship management, issues management, crisis communications and community programming. Your success will help ensure all communications activities are aligned with Irving Oil’s corporate priorities in support of the strategic objectives of the business and brand organization.
What We Offer:

Being one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers – For the past eight years, Irving Oil has been recognized as a top employer in Canada, a testament to our company’s continued focus on our employees’ wellbeing, our flexible workplaces and our forward-thinking programs.
Opportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation-matching program.
Your Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of strategies to address corporate communications issues impacting our business and work collaboratively with various teams to inform, advocate and consult as required.
Develop and execute detailed communications plans, including planning events and activities, that lead to a consistent and meticulous experience for all involved, ensuring consistent, effective and integrated approaches.
With strong writing as a key skillset, develop materials which not only represent our company’s brand voice, but also demonstrate creativity, attention to detail and talent for storytelling.
Build relationships with key internal stakeholders across the company to support various initiatives by understanding their needs and developing internal communication proposals that will achieve their objectives.
Provide direction and guidance to multiple internal stakeholders regarding appropriate internal communication tactics and assist with the execution of these tactics.
Develop clear, timely and effective employee communications striving for relevant, informative, inclusive content that touches all aspects of the company.
Your Skills :
