CollingwoodGeneral and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84 bed hospital located inCollingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that servesmore than 74,000 permanent residents and 3.5 Million annual visitors to thecommunities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and the Blue Mountains.CGMH is an acute care hospital providing emergency care, diagnostic servicesincluding lab, imaging and cardio respiratory therapy, as well as two inpatientunits (medicine and surgery). In addition, CGMH also provides care in specialtyareas including obstetrics, orthopaedics, intensive care and surgery. TheHospital also provides out patient care including dialysis and a wide range ofclinics including mental health and rehabilitation services. CGMH continues toprovide care close to home for our community and plays a key role as anintegrated orthopaedic centre for our region. The Opportunity:

The Human ResourcesAssociate provides support to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital’s skilledand dedicated employees. In addition to playing an integral role in providingadministrative and organizational support forHR functions, the Associatetakes a leading role in supporting full-cycle recruitment, pre-employment, andemployee onboarding activity. In a client focused role, the Associate ensuresseamless service experience for customers of the People Services Centre.

Qualifications:

Completion of a post-secondary program in Human Resources Management Possess, or is in process of obtaining, a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation Previous experience with Human ResourceInformation Systems would be an asset Previous experience in a unionizedenvironment would be an asset Previous experience in a medical settingwould be an asset. Must strive to continuously provide asafe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers Must adhere to the duties of workers, asstipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Must have an ability to effectivelycommunicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provideexcellent communication with team members, patients and families. Ability tocommunicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset. Must be dedicated to professional growth& development Must be able to perform all bona fideand essential duties of the position, which may include physical demands suchas pushing, pulling, bending, etc. Must have demonstrated excellentattendance/performance record Excellent organization andprioritization skills Ability to work independently andeffectively communicate with other members of the health care team\ Excellent typing and computer skills;especially with Microsoft Office Excellent composition skills indeveloping reports, minutes, and correspondence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

Modelsthe Hospital’s I CARE AT values in all interactions. Acts as first point of contact for team membersaccessing the People Services Centre. Acts as point person for recruitment support withinassigned portfolio including supporting the candidate experience from jobposting through to job offer and navigation of the onboarding process includingorientation. Maintains internal information systems such as theHuman Resources Information, Applicant Tracking, and Position Control Systems,as well as employee profiles in our Learning Management and Mass NotificationSystems. Takes committee minutes. Supports the maintenance of departmental statisticsand departmental records. Other duties as assigned to support HR and Payrolland Scheduling teams.
