Compass is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Accounting team in Toronto.

Compass offers an Accounts Payable Manager role providing the opportunity to implement best practices and develop and grow the Accounts Payable team. As Accounts Payable Manager in a highly visible role, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle Accounts Payable process across the organization, with significant exposure to members of all departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Accounts Payable cycle execution for the North American and EMEA
  • Aid in the payments process of the EMEA entities
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the AP team, specifically the Accounts Payable Analysts
  • Develop and continuously improve accounts payable procedures each quarter
  • Oversee the processing of expense reports in Expensify
  • Assist in the implementation of new system improvement initiatives, such as AP Automation
  • Assist and support with external audit process
  • Contribute to processing documentation and creation of internal control and accounting policies as the Company continues to grow
  • Involved in continuous improvement in NetSuite processes and standardization for reporting and functional uses of NetSuite Entities.

What You Need to Succeed

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in a similar position. International Company experience is preferred. Real estate industry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Fluent Spoken and Written skills in English required. Other languages could be a benefit.

  • A team player who has the interpersonal skills and personality to influence other team
  • members of the team.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Ability to adapt - Accounting standards/projects change at an accelerated pace, and he/she
  • must be able to deal with constant changes to meet the needs of the Company.
  • Detailed oriented with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Good understanding of US GAAP required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • NetSuite experience is preferred but not required.
