Headquartered in the heart of Kamloops, the TNRD provides a wide range of local government services to a population of 144,000 located within its 11 diverse municipalities and 10 electoral areas.

The Role

Reporting to the Deputy Corporate Officer, this temporary, full-time position supports the administration of the TNRD’s access to information and protection of privacy program under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), as well as the administration and governance of the TNRD’s corporate records management program.

This position ensures the TNRD’s records and information are managed effectively and in compliance with all legislative requirements and best practices. This position also offers general ongoing administrative support to the Corporate and Legislative Services department.

Administers privacy and access to information programs and policies to ensure compliance with FIPPA legislation Administers policies, processes and controls related to the appropriate collection, retention, access, use and disclosure of corporate and personal information Provides information to staff and elected officials on privacy and FIPPA compliance matters Processes Freedom of Information (FOI) requests Supports Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) Supports the creation, maintenance and retention of official corporate records Provides advice and guidance to all TNRD departments on the records management program Supports the migration of the TNRD’s corporate records to an electronic document records management system
