Overview

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This pivotal role requires a passionate leader with a strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and restaurant management. As a Kitchen Manager, you will drive excellence in food quality, safety standards, staff training, and operational efficiency to ensure an outstanding dining experience for our guests. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and food handlers, fostering a positive team environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking processes, and presentation to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
  • Implement and maintain strict food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Conduct staff training sessions on food production techniques, safety procedures, customer service standards, and operational policies.
  • Supervise shift management activities including scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak hours to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor kitchen operations for efficiency improvements; troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  • Assist with budgeting responsibilities by controlling labor costs and managing operational expenses effectively.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Support catering events or banquet services as needed, coordinating food production for large groups or special functions.
  • Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment aligned with health codes and safety standards.
  • Participate in interviewing potential team members to select qualified candidates who align with our service values.
  • Engage in ongoing performance evaluations and provide coaching to foster staff development and retention.

Experience

  • Proven management experience within a quick service or fast-food restaurant environment is essential; casual dining or fine dining experience is highly valued.
  • Extensive culinary experience with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
  • Strong background in inventory control, food safety practices, and sanitation procedures aligned with industry standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising teams, managing shifts effectively, and training staff members at various levels of experience.
  • Experience overseeing restaurant operations including budgeting, cost control, staffing schedules, and customer service excellence.
  • Knowledge of catering or banquet services is a plus; hotel or hospitality industry experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to motivate teams toward shared goals in a dynamic setting.
