Housing First Coordinator

The Centre of Hope invites applications for: 1 Temporary Full-Time Housing with Supports Coordinator.
Note: Perquisite for this positing requires applicants to have a minimum 2-year social sector diploma and 1-year related experience. Along with 1 sample of case note documentation.
As a coordinator you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Providing support, advocacy and resource brokering to the chronic homeless
- Assessing and addressing client needs as a member of a team in a client focused, holistic fashion.
- Conducting assessments and intake interviews with clients in a variety of locations
- Assesses client's functional, income, employment, and housing status to determine resource eligibility.
- Participate in conducting research activities.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Social Services or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of incorporating Truth and Reconciliation as a case management practice.
- A desire to make a difference in the life of a Homeless person.
- Advanced knowledge of issues relating to activities of street involved people.
- Experience addressing the needs of homeless individuals.
- Extensive knowledge of resources and services available within the community specific to homelessness.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include overtime, evenings, and weekends.
- Valid Standard First Aid Course
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Mediation Skills are an asset.
- Knowledge base of regions housing scope, Alberta Tenancy Act and RTA.
- Class 5 drivers' license and daily access to a vehicle. Must be willing to transport clients.
- Acceptable Criminal Record Check.
Salary to be negotiated based on 40 hr work week.
