Indigenous Housing First – Floater Position

Client Support & Case Management:

· Support three (3) Follow-Up Support files

· Provide follow-up support, assistance, and basic life-skills training to high-risk Indigenous men, women, youth, and families to help them establish and maintain stable, independent housing

· Secure sustainable housing for participants and successfully house three (3) individuals per month (youth and/or adults) Transport participants to housing viewings.

· Conduct regular home visits to provide ongoing support to clients working toward stable housing.

· Retaining re-housing for participants

· Coordinate moving logistics including transportation, purchase or sourcing of household items, food, and furniture.

· Provide one-time support to two (2) families or individuals per month through the Supportive Referral Program, including rent, damage deposit, start-up groceries, and household supplies.

· Ensure all client assessments are completed and enter the program database (Efforts to Outcomes) a web-based case management system.

· Connect clients to relevant community support, including identification services, medical care, legal resources, and income assistance.

· Implement harm-reduction strategies in all client interactions.

· Document all objective client interactions (phone or in-person) in ETO

· Develop individualized Independence Plans outlining steps needed to sustain housing. Administer random client surveys to ensure service effectiveness.

Community Relations:

· Conduct move-in and move-out inspections in collaboration with the Landlord Relations Specialist.

· Build and maintain positive working relationships with property management companies and housing providers.

· Support both clients and landlords objectively through mediation.

· Foster positive communication and relationships between clients and property managers.

· Engage in community partnerships that support Indigenous individuals facing multiple barriers to housing.

Administrative & Financial Responsibilities:

· Complete all financial tasks in a timely manner, including purchase authorizations (PAs), receipt submissions, and other reconciliations required by accounting.

· Submit all required documentation on time, such as RAP forms, third-party rental agreements, rent reconciliations, and program reports.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

Qualification Requirements:

· A./B.S.W./Human Services Degree or Diploma or equivalent

· 3 – 5 years minimum of relevant experience

· Enthusiasm for being part of the solution to end homelessness in Edmonton

· Passion for working with Indigenous individuals; excited about being a catalyst of change in people's lives.

· Must understanding the impact the loss of culture identity and intergeneration residential school syndrome has had on Indigenous people.

· Effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines

· Budgeting skills are an asset

· Must have own vehicle and be willing to transport clients.

· Must have a valid driver's license and willing to obtain a drivers abstract

· Must have 2-million-dollar liability insurance coverage

· Must provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Check (within a 6-month period from date of completion).

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits:

· Salary plus monthly auto allowance.

· Paid sick and wellness days after 3 months' probation (pro-rated)

· Extended Health Benefit (50/50 cost sharing) after 6 months' employment.

· Working approximately 34.5 hours per week
