Medical Office Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Medical Office Administrator to join our growing team. The right candidate will be responsible for greeting patients in a professional manner, performing clerical duties such as filing and answering phones, maintaining records, screening patients and taking vital signs. A successful candidate will have excellent medical knowledge and attention to detail as well as a commitment to customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Type and run reports and generate documents.
- Answer phones and greet clients.
- Schedule appointments.
- Type and send correspondence.
- Sorting mail, incoming faxes, data entry, scanning
- Create, organize, and maintain office systems, such as filing and medical record keeping systems.
- Organize supplies in office.
- Ensure cleanliness of waiting room and reception areas.
- Prepare exam rooms for visit
- Escort patients to exam room, obtain vitals, reason for visit and other pertinent data
- OHIP and 3rd party billing
- referrals
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, including front desk operations and administrative tasks.
- Proficient in electronic medical records management and filing systems.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with software such as Telus EMR
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing patient records and scheduling.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Hamilton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
