About the Company

Our client, a well-established law firm located in downtown Toronto, is seeking a
Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant
to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, draft, and revise legal documents, including agreements of purchase and sale, leases, and closing documents.
  • Assist lawyers with all aspects of real estate transactions, including due diligence, title searches, and closings.
  • Open, maintain, and close client files in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Communicate with clients, realtors, lenders, municipal offices, and title insurance companies.
  • Monitor and manage critical dates and transaction timelines.
  • Coordinate document registration and filings with Teraview and other online systems.
  • Manage trust accounts and handle billing, time entry, and docketing.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a legal assistant in Commercial Real Estate law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma/certificate from a recognized institution.
  • Strong knowledge of Teraview, title search procedures, and real estate closing processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and legal practice management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • Professional, client-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
