About Aisle 3
Aisle 3 Bar is a Vietnamese-inspired cocktail and dinner bar on Dundas St. West, blending elevated street food with inventive cocktails in a warm, intimate 45-seat space + seasonal patio. We're community-minded, quality-obsessed, and entering an exciting new growth phase.
We're looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial General Manager who thrives in a guest-focused, detail-oriented setting and wants to help shape the next chapter of Aisle 3's story.
About the Role
You'll be the day-to-day leader and key business partner to ownership, working side-by-side with the owner-operators and head chef to drive sales, develop team culture, and deliver memorable guest experiences.
You'll collaborate closely with the bar lead and ownership team — with real input on menu features, promotions, and community partnerships that make Aisle 3 a standout neighbourhood destination.
We're looking for someone who brings structure and creativity , someone who can build systems but still loves being on the floor connecting with guests.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily service operations and act as the liaison between kitchen, bar, and floor teams.
- Lead by example to build a motivated, high-performing, and positive team culture.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
- Oversee staff clock-ins, attendance, and shift changes through POS and scheduling platforms.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar and service area.
Inventory, Purchasing & Cost Control
- Manage inventory for both bar and kitchen (using MarketMan or similar systems).
- Conduct weekly inventory intake, waste tracking, and cost control.
- Research and onboard new suppliers, comparing pricing and quality for bar goods and ingredients.
- Manage LCBO and other supplier orders, pickups, and deliveries.
- Track unlisted consumables (take-out bags, candles, etc.) to prevent hidden losses.
- Maintain accurate waste sheets and ensure cost targets are met.
Events, Marketing & Sales
- Plan, execute, and promote events and special nights (e.g., wine nights, themed dinners, local collaborations).
- Drive event bookings and group reservations through outreach and relationship-building.
- Collaborate with ownership to implement creative, sales-driving ideas and seasonal promotions.
- Build regular clientele through excellent hospitality, networking, and community engagement.
Administration & Reporting
- Track daily/weekly sales, labour, and cost reports.
- Work with ownership to set and monitor key performance goals.
- Assist with compliance, vendor documentation, and general administrative organization.
Who You Are
- Experienced in restaurant or bar management (2+ years preferred), ideally in a cocktail or casual-fine dining setting.
- Familiarity with systems like MarketMan, Push Operations, or similar platforms is a bonus, but not required.
- Financially minded and detail-oriented — you understand how smart systems and strong service drive profitability.
- A natural leader and communicator who can motivate teams and handle challenges with calm and positivity.
- Creative and entrepreneurial, eager to learn the ownership side of hospitality, brand-building, and community engagement.
- Passionate about building something lasting , not just running shifts, but shaping a small business with purpose.
Compensation & Growth
- Competitive salary: $55,000 – $60,000 (commensurate with experience)
