Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role in Toronto, ON, for an Assistant Restaurant Manager. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer experiences, support the hiring and training of staff, and uphold food and beverage quality standards. They will collaborate with team members to maintain operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Customer Service and a strong focus on Customer Satisfaction
  • Proficiency in managing and overseeing Hiring and team development processes
  • Strong Communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff and guests
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage standards and operations
  • Leadership abilities, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is a must
  • Event experience is ideal
  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field is an asset

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership

  • Support the owner/manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations.
  • Supervise, motivate, and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food, beverages, and service.
  • Help manage scheduling, payroll tracking, and shift coverage.
  • Monitor inventory, assist with ordering, and control costs to meet financial targets.

Customer Experience

  • Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction by responding to feedback quickly and professionally.
  • Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and service-oriented environment.
  • Handle guest issues or complaints with professionalism and discretion.

Staff Development

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Foster teamwork and positive morale among staff members.
  • Assist in conducting performance reviews and ongoing coaching.

Administrative Duties

  • Support with cash-outs, deposits, and basic bookkeeping.
  • Help manage compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Help manage email bookings
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives, promotions, and event planning when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour
